Organizing Events:
Zoo organizes various events in the Zoo. Some of them are
- Wildlife week first week of October.
- Indian Zoo Week 1st to 7th December.
- World conservation day 3rd December.
- Animal Welfare fortnightly.
- World Biodiversity Day 22nd May.
- World Environment Day 5th June.
- World Forestry Day 21st March.
Wildlife week celebrations are one of the most sought after functions of the Zoological Park.During this week starting from 1st October to 7th October the schools' children are given free entry in to the zoo premises. About 20000 school children visit the zoo during this week. At the same time Zoo organizes a different type of competitions for students i.e. essay, elocution, drawing, painting, small plays are organised on wildlife matters and prizes are distributed on the final day.The prizes and the programmes are sponsored by NGOs' Prominent People & Individuals. Regular coverage about the zoo activities is published in news papers in the form of articles and telecast on TV, focussing on various success stories and activities taken on the animal behavior and amenities provided to the animals.
